About MATI-1
(Meta Art Therapy Institute)

Meta Art Therapy Institute(MATI)'s Vision
Since the outbreak of the COVID19 pandemic in 2020, the world has entered an era where people are expanding their lives by meeting and interacting in various ways through online platforms and virtual worlds, transcending time and space, and maintaining or forming new relationships.
Not only those who have mental health difficulties, but also everyone who faces personal or temporal difficulties should receive appropriate psychological support to protect themselves from crisis, isolation, and anxiety about the future, and to live their own unique lives beautifully.
Art therapy is a unique and independent process of combining psychotherapy with the process of art work that uses various art media that stimulate the senses to understand the 'invisible mind' and expresses and shapes it by moving the hands and body so that it can be 'seen' with the eyes. This is an area of expertise.
The mission of MATI is to promote professionalism in art therapy and to train professionals engaged in practice. All courses that study a topic and develop clinical skills based on domestic and international art therapy theory and practice are now traditional. It has become an era where we must demonstrate our capabilities not only in face-to-face counseling and education, but also in the world of the meta-verse, a non-face-to-face online virtual space.
MATI is implementing a space for professionals who can provide art psychology counseling and art therapy services by utilizing the meta-verse world, and it is a place where children, adolescents, and all those who use digital media can feel safe and comfortable. We aim to play a role in helping people pursue their own psychological and mental health and happiness. The need for the use of digital media for mental health and well-being is steadily increasing, but there is a need to recognize this correctly and use it meaningfully in the field of psychological counseling. The provision of services such as media training, professional ethics training and clinical supervision is only just beginning.
Now, MATI has experts based on psychology and art therapy to provide domestic and international art psychology counselors needed in the new era, while remaining faithful to the basics and providing education, supervision, self-care, and certification education equivalent to international qualifications for the latest clinical situations for art therapists. We plan to provide the service in earnest.
Art therapy supervision provided through MATI is an education that includes art-based art work and creative processes using various media to help current art therapists prepare for a new era and the future secure their professional identity and confidence, as well as their self-esteem as professionals. It will provide opportunities for growth.
MATI will provide art therapists with art-based work, workshops, supervision, and education to develop their artistic skills, and provide current art therapists with opportunities to develop their professional identity and grow as professionals. Half a century ago As was the case with the birth of art therapy, clinicians with artistic temperament who can think in a future-oriented and convergent way now play an important role in confirming and developing the uniqueness and independence of art therapy that remains unchanged in the era of the 4th industrial revolution in which the world of advanced digital media has opened. MATI will pave the way for art therapists who are prepared and growing for this.
